The Oran Park Anglican College is currently under construction with plans to be open for the 2012 school year. Enrolments are currently being taken and an enrolment education evening is scheduled at Oran Park Town for August 18.
Oran Park Anglican College will be complemented by, St. Justins catering for kindergarten, infants and primary students and St. Benedicts, a high school. St Justins has just received development consent for their proposal.
In addition, the NSW Department of Education has purchased a 9 hectare site for the construction of a school catering for kindergarten through to Year 12 students. This new school will ultimately have 2,000 students and incorporate a special needs class stream as well.
“These events are just part of delivering the overall plan for education within the Oran Park Town area. Our earlier market research identified the need for education within the growing south west area and we’re pleased to bring this to life at Oran Park Town”, said Mark Perich, Director Greenfields Development Company.
Plans for additional schools remain in negotiation with further announcements expected in early 2012.
“The need to bring these schools on-line early is an important requirement for the residents of the new town. We have so many new young families who have called Oran Park home over the past 18 months and now they have their family’s education needs delivered”, said Mick Owens, Landcom General Manager, Development.
The Oran Park Town project is developed in agreement between Greenfields Development Company and Landcom, the NSW Government’s property developer. It will ultimately become home to 25,000 people living in a new modern town centre of 30 hectares and over 8,000 homes.
