Podium Stage 2 Expansion
Recently Camden Council met to review the height limit for one of the new apartment buildings within Stage 2 of the Podium Shopping Centre project within Oran Park Town. At the meeting Council unanimously supported the increased height limit to 47m. Camden Councillor, Cindy Cagney commented “Any proposal, such as this, that will actually enhance the town centre area is beneficial.” This endorsement was in reference to the new proposed 12 storey residential apartment building. Containing 146 x one, two & three bedroom apartments.
We are very excited about this decision and believe that the Stage 2 project will dramatically increase the Town’s amenities. We will now start the detailed design process for final approval and then construction. We anticipate starting around March 2020 and because of the size of the project completion is expected to be in early 2022.
The apartment building is part of a larger project to significantly increase the Podium Shopping Centre. The other features include:
- And increase in the Podium by 250%
- Large discount department store
- 40 specialty shops
- Market-style food court
- Alfresco dining precinct spilling onto the Town Park
- The underground car park will be extended from approximately 580 cars to 1,360 cars
- An amenity block and niche water feature will enhance the Town Park which will border the new Podium Centre.
Also planned is an integrated four level office tower of just under 4,000m2 and an additional quality apartment building having 5 levels overlooking the Town Park and Podium Way.
When these works are completed Podium Way will link Dick Johnson Drive to the Civic Precinct allowing direct access from the Town Centre straight through to The Northern Road.
Walking in and around the Town Centre will be much more exciting as residents and visitors can take advantage of the avenue of alfresco dining and then stroll through the Town Park and onto the Splash Park and Ron’s Creek area.
